Quick question

Well I was thinking in terms of the closet match in value and
performance. Say if you had to replace the 9500 Pro on an insurance
claim, what would be the closest match?

I have seen the 9800 pro for around 200 US dollars and it's a better card
for the same cost as my 9500 pro.

since the 9500 pro has eight pipes, then I would say it would have
to be a 9700 pro, 9800 non pro, or above. The 9600's all have 4 pipes,
so even though they are fairly fast I would still stick with an eight
pipe card. The 9500 pro is a respectable card, and unless you upgrade to
a whole new level I would stay with that ~

Thanks! I wish I could stick with my 9500 Pro but it got cooked this
weekend!

In evolutionary terms the 9600XT.

Which one of the newer cards would be comparable to a 9500 Pro?

Also in speed it comes closest, though not really matching it; the 9500 Pro
has 275 MHz with 8 pipelines, the 9600 XT has 500 MHz with 4 pipelines...

9500 Pro is a special card, now, really a 9700 with 128 bit memory...
Nowadays the 'expensive' cards have 8 pipes, and the 'cheap' cards 4.... The
9500 Pro falls in between....
