does anyone know of any issues installing active directory on a member
server running terminal services in a windows 2000 domain?

thanks,

Dustin,

You can not install AD on a Member Server. Well, you can but it does not
remain a Member Server. It becomes a Domain Controller. Running dcpromo
turns a Member Server into a Domain Controller and then running it on that
same machine again makes it a Member Server again.

You really want to think about running Terminal Server on a Domain
Controller. Generally not an acceptable thing. But that depends on what
you have ( economically speaking ). A lot of smaller companies running
SBS2000 or SBS2003 run Terminal Server on that SBS box ( which is,
naturally, a Domain Controller ).

So, to answer your question: if you can avoid it don't do this. If you have
no other options then I guess......

But I would not do this....

(minor correction - you can't install/configure TS on SBS2003 - you can only
enable remote desktop for TS/admin mode)

Nor would I!

Yes, you are correct. Forgot that for a minute. Thank you for
reminding me of this.....

No prob....I'm actually really glad SBS prevents one from trying to run a
terminal server on it. It comes as a big shock to those who successfully did
it in SBS2k, but then, they really shouldn't have been doing it then,
either - they just didn't know that, usually.
