Quick question about File Properties

The Properties (file->properties) the Title and Author always
gets filled in.

How do I make it so that it stays blank unless I fill it in?

Sometimes, I even delete the Title, and then when I save the document,
I notice the next time I open it, it took the first line of my file as
the title again.

I want it to remain blank by default.

Oh, and another question...sometimes I copy and paste text off a
website (If I find an interesting quote or something).
I usually put it in a word doc, I like to use Times New Roman, but when
I do a ctrl-v, it usually comes in as a different text, and the
formatting is all different.

How can I make it come in and adhere to the format I set for the
document?

Thanks

One post is sufficient.

In the future, please only ask one question (or related questions) in a
single post.

I don't have an answer to your question about document properties. I do have
an answer to your question about pasting. Because you've put two unrelated
questions together, someone seeing that I have answered may skip reading
your question and go on to unanswered questions.

Edit > Paste Special > Unformatted text

Paste brings in formatting (styles) from web pages unless you tell it not to
do so. As you've seen, this can have unexpected results.

The Properties picks up this information from Tools, Options, User tab. If
you clear these, it will clear the Properties form. However, that may result
in other knock on effects such as in Track Changes, Username fields, etc.

Thats where it gets the authors name.
But not the TITLE. Thats not on the User Information tab.

For the title, it gets it from the first line of the file.
For example if my document is:
"Hi Tom,
blah blah
blah"

When I save the file, the title will be "Hi Tom"

It automatically pulled it from the first line.
I want to stop this from happening.

Thanks

If your template includes text in the Title field, it will substitute that.
You might try putting a single space there.
