i am running xp home i am trying to put my e-mail on the taskbar to use
quick launch it will not let me drag and drop it there any suggestions,

Try dragging and dropping it to here:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch

(change path to either your user name or leave it to all users) That should
do the trick for you but it might not show up until you've refreshed it or
rebooted.

Place the shortcut in this folder:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Type in Start/Run.
