Hi again,
Ok I now understand that the quick launch for users is
under their microsoft folder in there home path and not
in there folder on the harddrive under documents and
settings. As administrator I tried to access the
microsoft folder under the users home path and access was
denied. I can only assume ownership which would then
allow me to add icons to their quick launch but if I do
this, will the user still be able to access the microsoft
folder? Also is their an easier way to get the icons in
the quick launch for the users?

Just another note on this, I am using gp to redirect app
data and my documents to the users home directory using %
username%. The first time the user logs on it created
the microsoft folder. After looking at the microsoft
folder I see that their is no rights set for anyone but
if I go to the advanced tab I see thecurrent owner box
showing "unable to display current owner" and then I see
administators listed in the box change owner to.
Since their are no rights set for the user, then it
appears that the user cannot add settings under the
microsoft folder. What am I doing wrong as far as
setting up folder redirection? All the users documents
from programs such as word get saved to the server under
their home directory. The user also gets a folder under
documents and settings on the harddrive that allows me to
add icons to the desktop folder.
