I've added some programs to the quick launch bar but now the bar is twice as wide as before .. I've tried going to the top of the bar and dragging it down but it doesn't change .. How do I get the Quick launch bar to be 1 row high? Thanks

R-click the Taskbar and unlock it. Drag the edge of the bar down and then
re-lock it.

Yes, play with the little bars at the side of the QL area. Drag them around
and down. This is difficult to explain, play with it a bit and you should
find the way.

LOL .. Yep tried that too .. They don't move at all .. I've looked in HELP under Quick Launch to see if there was something there .. I've tried moving the bar on the right for the "tray" all that does is hide/open what's in the tray .. I've looked in the Control Panel to see if there was something there but couldn't find anything either .. This happened once before quite a while ago but I have NO idea how I made the change .. Thanks for your help

Put the mouse cursor over the handle on the left end of the Quick Launch bar
so that the cursor changes. Hold down the left button and drag the bar to
the left edge of the screen. Right click it and select Always on Top and
AutoHide.
