We have just deployed Group Policy accross our firm, and something has
caused all of our users to lose their QuickLaunch Toolbar. We have a
mixture of Windows 2000 SP3, 2000 SP4 and XP clients. Our policy is
setup on a Windows 2003 Server (which acts as a DC and DNS server
too).
All users still have the quicklaunch folder in
(%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick
Launch) and have permissions to it. They are able to right click the
taskbar, select properties and turn it back on. However, we want to
do this accross the board (as it was before) but can't find out how.
I've searched through the groups and have found similar problems but
no answer (yet).
I've read a few questions that say it's by design as it's a user
setting, but if that's the case how could it unilaterally be removed
by deploying Group Policy?
Believe it or not, we've received more calls about that toolbar
disappearing than we ever do when the mail servers crash
Thanks in advance for any pointers.
