I've managed to get rid of the 'Search Assistant' toolbar, now everytime I restart 'Quick Launch' is not displayed, how do I go about fixing it??

You should be able to get quick launch back by right clicking the taskbar at
the bottom of your screen (between the start button and the notification
area(clock)). From the drop down menu that appears select Toolbars and then
make sure a 'tick' mark is next to the quick launch option.

Thanks John, Yes, it 'should' be that simple... but it doesn't work..
What I've tried so far...
Got rid of that omniband.dll file - restart
loaded and ran spybot and adware - restart
tried some of Kelly's fixes No.240 and taskbar/toolbar repair file - restart
made changes to the quick launch toolbar - restart
unregistered wmpband.dll - restart
deleted HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2
as suggested in other discussions in registry - restart

What can I try next, getting annoyed now!!!

Fixed!!!! I deleted two programs called Windows SA, which are linked to Blazefind which puts that annoying Search Assistant to the toolbar.......
