I used to have my QLTB all the way to the right against the notification
ares. Once when using Windows Media Player 9 I clicked something and it
put a notification between the Quick Launch and the regular
notification area to show what was playing. I stopped this but still it
leaves a 1 inch gap where it used to be and I can't close the gap. Any
way to undo whatever it is?

Passionate hatred can give meaning and
purpose to an empty life.

try this:

Right click on a empty space on the taskbar and then go to TOOLBARS and
uncheck the WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER toolbar.

See if that helps, let us know.
