Win2KproSP4
I dragged the verticle bar of Quick Launch in the tray area too far to
the left, which removed all of the icons (by mistake)..
Now I cannot restore the Quick Launch area in the toolbar; the verticle
bar will not drag back to the right...
Right click on the toolbar shows Toolbars>Quick Launch> as checked...
How can I restore the Quick Launch???

A reboot brought the Quick Launch icons back on the right side of the
toolbar, but not to the original left side next to the Start button???

It will only drag to about 2'' from its original position next to the
Start button....

Right click on the Taskbar and close each toolbar and uncheck the standard
ones.

Then add the one-at-a-time, e.g., Quick Launch. They should all created in
normal order.

After you close all toolbars on the taskbar, you should not see any grippers
(the separator between toolbars). If so, then you have not closed ALL
toolbars.

Right-click on that last toolbar and select close.

I followed your instructions, but am still left with a gripper about 2''
to the right of the Start button..
I am giving up on a repair and will reinstall my backup of Win2KproSP4.
Thanks for your help,
Willard

There's no need. If you can't get it then either create a new user and logon
with that or rename your profile (while logged on as another user that has
administrative rights) Then when you next logon a new profile will be
created from an image in \default user. You can then copy over the items you
need from the renamed profile. Copy the folder contents not the folders
themselves. When your sure you have all you need, you can delete the renamed
profile(s). Use the import function of your e-mail software.

Thanks Dave, but I had already made a sector by sector copy from my 5
day backup firewire duplicate 20gb #3 HDD, which takes about 20
minutes.. Then I transfer my daily incremental backup data files from #2
HDD to #1 (C:) HDD.. I've found this is an easy way to restore the
system, after some kind of a screwup like this, which I make from time
to time..
