I'm new to Windows XP. In Windows 98, I was able to put
documents on the quick launch. I would like to put the
documents I use constantly throughout the day on the
quick launch. Is there any way to do this? I do have my
Desktop on there but that still is a lot of extra
keystrokes that I'd rather not have to take.

Right click on the document>Send to>Desktop (create shortcut). Drag the
icon from the desktop to the taskbar. It will copy there and you can delete
the one on the desktop.

Easier: drag the document icon to the quick launch bar (= right-drag and
select Create short-cut here)

Quick Launch will not allow me to drag and create shortcuts with documents or folders - I can only drag programs. What do I need to change

I don't know why you're not able to simply drag a folder or a document to
the Quick Launch toolbar, to create a shortcut there, it works fine here. Is
SP1 installed (not that I know if that has anything to do with it, but my
Win XP Pro is up to date)? Does Bruce's method work, then?

If you drag folders, then it becomes part of the Taskbar/Toolbars.
