There are four things I do with mail in the Inbox. I either delete the
message or move it to one of three folders.

How do I set up Outlook 2007 to assign a key to each folder and when clicked
it moves the selected message to the corresponding folder and then selects
the next message in the Inbox?

You can't do that with the keyboard. Try setting up Rules to handle incoming
mail or move manually. You can't use Rules after it arrives in the Inbox.

CtrL+Shift+V will open the folder dialog but you can't assign a shortcut to
a specific folder. "Type down" works in that dialog - so if you want to
move it to the folder called "Mary Smth" type ctrl+Shft+V then M.

Thanks folks.

Let's just consider this my suggestion for a future enhancement. It is a
feature that is common in photography applications (like Lightroom) that
helps speed up sorting through photos. Same concept should apply to going
through email.

It is under consideration for the next version. Time will tell if it made it
in the next version but I'm giving it a 90% chance. The main reason
companies request it is to put an end to people hitting Del to "file"
messages in the Deleted items folder. I think the only reason it won't make
it in is if adding it causes bugs they can't fix.

I don't expect to see it added to current versions.

Thanks Diane.

I'll keep my fingers crossed (now that I know I can't use them to sort my
mail).
