Quick Key Search Problem

With Outlook 2000 I could click on Contacts, then begin
typing the name of the contact I want to find, and I
would be moved in the contacts to that entry. With 2002,
I click Contacts, then type the first letter of the name
I want, and occasionally it will jump to that section of
Contacts, but usually it stares at me still at the
beginning of the Contacts. Should I be able to do
the "Quick Key Search" within Contacts as I could in
2000? Any ideas on why it is not working for me in 2002?

Thanks, Miles

I've seen other similar reports but no consistent solution. There seems to
be some issue with the Contacts Folder in Outlook 2002 losing screen focus.
If you click the mouse on the screen to return the focus, does it work then?

Russ:

You hit the nail on the head... when it does not work,
it's because the focus was lost. By clicking on a contact
the quick key works fine! It's a pain to have to click
before using the quick key but at least I know why now.
Does not happen each time I go into contacts, but about
50% of the time. Thanks
