I installed Windows 2000 Pro on a Notebook (HP) . The Notebook previously has
XP Home on it. When I am in the blue setup screen for 2000 pro I delete the
current parition, then format it (NTFS full format)...then install 2000 pro.
After 2000 Pro is installed and I restart my computer is prompts me to select
a OS. Both the current one (2000 Pro) and the previous OS (XP HOME) are
shown. Of course the old OS will not boot and I do not want it to. In the
past this has not been an issue on other machines. I have tried to format
the hard drive a few ways and I cannot get the old XP boot off. How can I
format or install 2000 Pro on this Notebook without getting the select the OS
prompt? When the computer is turned on, I want it to boot straight into 2000
Pro. Thanks for your time.
