QuestViewer.exe not found?

Hello again fellow XP'ers,

There's a particular screensaver (screensavers.com) I am having trouble
loading. Though, I recently emptied out my cache files and then defrag, the
uploading of my screensavers reads [QuestViewer.exe Not Found]. I have this
problem before but after cleaning out my dll. files, it solved the uploading
errors. Now, it's acting up again... did I do this or is this just simply an
executable file error? I'm sure some of us here may have run into this
previously, any advise is sure welcome, thx.

Since QuestViewer.exe is not a Windows XP file, I would assume that the screen saver that
you are trying to install and use is a third party screen saver. If there was an aborted
install, try to reinstall from the original install file. If it is an old screen saver,
and will not reinstall properly, perhaps it is incompatible with the updated Windows XP
version which you are now using.

Hi,

1. Screensavers.com adds mucho spyware, etc.
2. Beings the particular screensaver is an exe, check Add or Remove
programs.
3. Where is the install path pointing to? If it was a zip file to begin
with copy the .exe from Temp, etc.
4. Which .dll's are you clearing out and by which method? Are you familiar
with this process?

Thx TC, I've tried uinstallind and then downloading but still am having the
same results. It was a paid download software installation is why I'm only
insistent in resolving this issue. I think Kelly is right about the numerous
spyware attachments on Screensavers.com, I've already had several issues with
this upload. Funny thing is, when I go to properties and setting to preview
the screensaver... it is viewable? Thanks for your comments TC, I'll continue
this effort again.

Hi Kelly, thanks for your reply. I am currenlty using freeware programs
CCleaners and space Odyssey 2.0 along with ISYS Cleaner, all downloaded from
PC World ( one my trusted sites). I have used these programs to clear and
cleaned missing, corrupt files and or missing file extensions. I've had no
problem with these programs since installing two months ago. You are right
about spyware attachments [Screensavers.com] seems to harbor. I did
purchased this download, would it just make sense to uninstall it altogether
for the problems it's giving me?

Most welcome. However, beings you mentioned it was listed via Desktop
properties, go to Start/Run and type in: *.scr

If found, follow the path and see if you can right click it and select
install. Good luck!
