I have had many problems most of which come from hardware
related issues, so here's my newest predicament.
I've built a new computer, A7n8x-e mobo, AMD Athlon XP
3000+, 512 ram, and a Ge Force 5900 graphics card.
Well, I've finally been contacted by Asus, about the
mother board, and I can't change the setting of my CPU to
get it to read that it's a 3000+. So I'll try and run
install on windows so maybe it can reset the computer
settings so it will read, it's not software related,
because it works fine any other time.
Well those are my problems. how do i get it to work???

What does it say the CPU is? Are you expecting it to say the CPU is
operating at 3.0 Ghz? It's not, of course. The AMD processors are named in
such a way that they are "compared" to an Intel processor of some certain
speed, say 3.0 Ghz, while actually operating at a lower speed. It's a
marketing thing.

I'm not expecting it to run at 3.0 but I am expecting it
to run at 2.6 like the base speed is. When I run windows
though it says i'm running a 1800+ which isn't right. And
when I'm trying to install windows it doesn't work right
at all. It will frequently stall, and or kill me, so I
don't know wha to do.

Is it possible that you have your CPU speed set to 100 MHz instead of 133? I
had a similar problem and, that was the case.

LOL, JAX
