hi, i am thinking about upgrading to vista ultimate, but my main question is,
if i do it via upgrade, and not full install, if i want to go back to xp pro
will i have an option of uninstalling the upgrade without losing any data
that is on the drive? minus the vista stuff?

If you upgrade from XP to Vista, the only way to return to XP is by
performing a clean install of XP, by booting with the XP CD, deleting the
partition, recreating and formatting the partition and then reinstalling XP.
You would have to save all of your data, files, etc to CD/DVD or another
hard drive (internal or external) before reinstalling XP.

No, you can't roll back Vista. You can image your current XP installation
using third party software so that you can return to your current state
should Vista not be a good fit for you.
