1. Can someone tell me how to 'STOP' that incessant goofy warning "Your
computer might be at risk". I already know that, I am using Microsoft
software. :)

I am guessing - from your description - you are talking about the Windows
Security Center complaining that you do not have SOMETHING turned on. *You*
are in complete control of this. All you need to do is open the Security
Center control panel...

Left hand side in the the Security Center window..
(Control Panel --> Security Center)

"Change the way Security Center Alerts Me"
(Click on that)

Uncheck all applicable boxes.

Thanks, still getting acquainted with the diffs between NT and XP. XP
does not seem as clear as NT was/is.

Windows XP is really NT 5.1.

Windows 2000 is NT 5.0, Windows Server 2003 is NT 5.2 and Windows Vista is
probably NT 5.3.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Just a guess, but but I'd expect Vista to be 6.0.

Hi Ken,

I guessed wrong then. ;-)

Maybe, maybe not. We'll have to wait and see who's right. I jus think that
Microsoft is positioning Vista as a major change and will give it a whole
new version number, not just an increment to the decimal portion.

Do you have Vista beta, Ken?

Yes, but to tell the truth, I didn't look. Besides that would only give some
indication of what it would be, not proof. They could change their mind
about what to call it between now and when it's released.

Winver replies with version 6.0, build 5270 (for the December CTP).

Thanks, Richard.

Ken's right though, MS could change it to NTNT version 1.0 or something.

Not That New Technology. :-)
