OEM stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer." If you
have an OEM version and you need technical support, you
have to go through the OEM, like DELL, Gateway, etc. If
you buy an OEM version without the "Original Equipment..."
associated with it, you'll have to Pay LOTS OF MONEY to
Microsoft for technical support. Microsoft online support
won't even give you the time of day if your version is
OEM. They will tell you to go to the OEM for support...

FYI, I don't like TigerDirect. They burned me badly a few
years back. They don't follow through and are not up front
with what they're selling. If they don't explain what OEM
means, RRRRUUUNNNNN don't walk away from them.

Win2k is for the most part very stable and I think it's
worth it for you to pay more to get a full retail version,
one that gives you full technical support.
