Hi I have just updated my windows 98 to xp and have hit a problem, I have
created 2 user accounts and 1 being administrator and the other being
limited but on the administrator account my outlook express will not load
saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close but on the limited
account it works fine what would cause this and how do I fix it

next problem is that I can't seem to stop my files from being shared between
accounts. when I go into 'my folders' 'properties' then into 'sharing' the
box 'make this folder private' is shaded and I can't tick it.

To the second problem I have been reading the help files and the only thing
I can find is something about a NTFS file system which might be the reason
but how do I convert it to that from FAT 32 system

Any help would be great

If you go to Start -> Run -> and type command. This will bring up the dos
prompt. Then type CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS (then hit enter). Btw though mate you
cannot go back to fat32 so make sure you wanna do it. At the dos prompt
before you type the command type HELP CONVERT , incase you wanted to know
what the commands do :¬). If you do the top one to convert to ntfs your pc
will checkdisk and do it's business and should reboot itself. When it's all
done, go to my computer, right click the c: drive and you'll see it's been
converted. Hope that helps :¬)

Hi Bates,

1) Reinstall OE under the Admin account. Locate the msoe50.inf file under
C:\Windows\Inf and right-click it, choose install. You must have Folder
Options/View tab in the Control Panel set to see hidden and system folders
to do this.

2) Converting to NTFS is fairly easy, but there are some precautions you
should take, please see:
