I'm playing around at work with this in order to be able to help our clients
with it. I've used TS in remote management mode for quite a while, and have
just now installed it in App mode. I have a few questions:

1) I installed the License server, and activated it, but I have not
purchased any cals for it yet. I read here that I don't need any cals for XP
Pro or 2K pro clients to connect to it, is this true? Where do I go to look
at the active connections to see the licensing information for a particuliar
connection client machine? the TS Manager where it shows the connections,
but I didn't see anythign about whether or not each connection had a CAL.

2) I have installed applications in TS RA mode several times, but when
trying to install some software in TS App mode, it said that I had to put it
into "install mode"....what is this and how do I go about doing it?

3) In order to make software that is installed on the server available to
term server users, can I install it from the console, and do I have to do
anything special in order to make it work for the TS users? I read something
about making some sort of special file (config?) for the TS software.

Thank you guys in advance for your help!

Ricky

Which OS are you running on the Terminal Server? W2K or 2003?

If you run W2K, yes, W2K Pro and XP Pro clients don't need a
purchased TS CAL, they will receive a free TS CAL from the
unlimited pool of "Existing Windows 2000 TS CALs" on the Licensing
Server.
If you run 2003: you must purchase and install a TS CAL for every
device / user.

Installing applications on a Terminal Server must be done while
the server is in install mode.
I would do some reading before you take this server into
production.
Note also that all applications that were installed *before* you
installed TS in Application Server mode have to be re-installed,
if you want those applications to have multi-user capabilities.
You should have received a warning about this.
