Questions about Identifying 9500

When I bought this card from Z-buy.com awhile ago it was said to be a Sapphire
card. I have tried numerous times to look it up on the ATI website but get
getting conflicting results.

Device ID: 4144
Vendor ID: 1002
Subsystem ID: 0002
Subsystem Vendor ID: 1002

BIOS Part Number: 11394232101
102 Part Number: 1029423231

My question is who is the manufacturer of this card? Anyone know and care to
share? Looking up the BIOS part # says its a 9700pro AIB and looking up the 102
part # says it a 9500 AIB. I still can't figure out who the manufacturer is.

Help please.
 
Curious. That combination of Device ID and Vendor ID doesnt come up on
http://www.ati.com/support/identify/graphicschart.html as you say...

The only place I can find the 4144 ID is here http://www.faq-mac.com/mt/archives/007424.php ... but
its for the Mac 9500 pro (from what I can make out, site not in English)! It also appears against
Radeon 9500 Pro on some obscure linux device lists.

I wonder if you have a Macintosh (or suchlike) part that has been reflashed for the PC? In any
case, it looks like you have a 9500 pro, its just a question of which machine it was originally
for...

Have you tried the sapphire site?

Images of their 9500 boards here, so you could at least know whether it is one of theirs..

Finally, might be worth getting hold of something like Everest Home Edition, and seeing what that
thinks it is. If your lucky, you might get a link to the manufacturor against your hardware if you
go Report > Quick Report on it.

Strange thing is, on the Sapphire site it lists the 9500 as having 128M DDR and
128 bit, this card is 128M DDR and 256 bit. Here is what Everest has to show:

Ha, you have the same thing as mine ;-) It's an old 9500 128 MB. Originally,
Ati only wanted to make 64 MB 9500's, but some retailers wanted tomake a 128
MB version, To do this, they used the PCB of a 9700. So, if you're lucky,
you can activate the 4 pipelines that have been disabled, and have a full
fledged 9700. This works with about 50% of these cards. If it doesnt work,
you get artifacts in games. You can try Omegadrivers to activate the
modification.
