Hi there , i have some questions regarding the pocket pc 2002 emulator
i tried to launch it via the command line and it worked fine but some
things are still not clear to me , my goal is to distribute a ppc
application that was written on the .Net cf on the emulator with the
emulator as part of the client setup :

1) is it possible to install only the emulator on a client machine ?
what is the minimum setup components that are needed ?

2) is it legal , and if not , how much does it cost ?

3) how can i run an application when the emulator starts like the IDE
of the cf does , i can run the emulator but i dont know how to spawn
an application on it

4) is it possible to use an application that was written on the cf on
a pc x86 machine without porting the code ? what it the shortest
route to acomplish this ?

any ms experts out there , gurus , thanks in advance

OL

This has already been asked and ansered quite a few times. Search NG for
more details, but the gist is that the SDK license agreement does not allow
redistributing the SDK, including but not limited to using emulator to run
applications

thanks alex for your response , still what do i need microsoft wise ,
legal wise , to have in the client side to run an application on the
emulator , taking into account that we are talking on a bare XP or NT
2000 machine ,
can you list the products and mention which are free and which are not
, order of installation will be appreciated .

thanks,
OL

I did some looking into this at one point and it seemed the simplest way to
install the PPC emulator onto a machine was to install Microsoft's Pocket PC
2002 SDK.

The ONLY way you are able to install emulator is via the SDK. You'll find
that the license agreement of the SDK is posted to this news group and that
you cannot redistribute the emulator independent of the SDK.
