I've had some problems with my touchpad; the roller doesn't always work. Could this be a virus, or could it be something wrong with the IRQ settings or the driver for this unit?
I doubt that it's something wrong with the touchpad itself; i.e. something physical/technical, because my desktop is rather new (HP).
What shall I do to solve the problem?
Hege

If it's still under warranty have you contacted the maker or were you bought it?

When I scan my computer for spyware, should I delete the infected files or should I save them as a backup as recommended by the program (NoAdware)? I'm especially interested in what to do with the cookies...

I've been using AdAwareSE for several years now and have always deleted all quarantined files - especially cookies. It's never done any harm. Zap 'em - they're just taking up space.

NoAdware provided some protection against spyware but could very likely cause stability problems on your PC due to its tendency to flag system files and other applications as spyware. The free scanner is ripe with “false positives” which could either be a high-pressure sales tactic or merely bad programming. Either way, we suggest you look elsewhere.
Yep, me too ...

;)

Just noticed, this software referred to is called 'NoAdware'. Is that kosher or what? I never heard of it.

Hmmm... Are you sure that this program may harm my computer? Or may it harm my computer simply because I did download it and had to pay for it after some pressure; i.e. would it do any difference if I had baught the program as a CD, in a shop for instance? (Silly question perhaps...).

If it's true that AdAware makes my computer unstable, should I uninstall it and install an other program? Do you have something to recommend?

The files that were infected by spyware, mostly cookies, seem now to be saved in a backup folder. Should I restore these files? (I think it's difficult to understand which system files that have to be there and which files that are just temporary internet files and may be deleted).

Thank you for replying :D

You are being confused by two products ...

Ad-Aware ... is tried & trusted and works ... and free. :thumb:

NoAdware ... in my opinion is a heap of junk.

Do you know a trusted site where I can download the correct program; Ad Aware?

I've downloaded AdAware now, and it looks alright. But it seems like I have to pay if I want a real-time protection. Is this really so?

(I'm rather new in this "game").
