Question when i defrag and WD

I chk disk and defrag once a month. I am assuming I have to make sure i go
into WD and take off the scan time so they do not interfere with each other.
Since I am planning to do this in a few days, will WD give me a hard time
when I do this?

true, but i do not want to do it in safemode unless i have no choice.
I guess i will have to try it and see, thanks

i did a ck disk and defrag on my xp pro dell diminsion 5150 running WD with
no problems- and i did not go into safe mode to do it. I am doing a
retrospect backup with a External HD now (as i type this) and so far no
problems.
Have 2 other computers to do over this week- will let you know how they went
too.
