I have an 80 minute CD. I used 40 minutes of it burning
music. The next day, I placed that same CD in the CD
Writer drive, clicked on burn to CD, and Im prompted to
place a blank CD in the drive. Why cannot I burn the
remainder of this disk? Windows Media Player will not
burn additional music to this disk. Any help would be
appreciated...

WMP automatically closes the disc when you burn the CD.
Once a recording session is closed you can not write to
the cd again. In Roxio easy cd creator their is a check
box for burning multiple session cds, I am not sure how
you do this in WMP. If you want to play burned cd-rs in
your home or car stereos the sessions must be closed.

As a follow-up question, can I erase what I wrote and then
re-burn using all the music that I would like? Thanks for
your reply!!

You can burn data or music to a CD-R disc only once. If you're using a
CD-RW disc however, you can treat it almost like a blank cassette tape.
