Don Morgan

I have made little home movies from digital pictures on XP, & Vista in the
past with
Photo Story 3. I upgraded from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium
a couple of months a go and have been struggling without Photo Story 3 on
Windows 7.
I like the narration feature in my movies, but Win 7 Movie Maker does not
support
narration. Would appreciate a suggestion on a work around for something
with the
same features as Photo Story 3. Sure wish Microsoft would build a driver
and get
Photo Story 3 available in Windows 7.

Thanks,
Don Morgan

Maybe you can run PhotoStory 3 on Win 7 if
you download and install the following:

Microsoft® Hardware-Assisted Virtualization Detection Tool

And...the following articles may offer some ideas...

Proceed at your own risk Thank you John Inzer. I ran the tool for the
Windows XP Mode and
got a message "Hardware assisted virtualization is not enabled on this
computer." I think this means I need to reconfigure the bios to download
and activate the XP mode. I am seeking help from Hewlett-Packard
on the bios change. I have a relatively new HP5120 , dual core, 4GB
memory computer and I think when I get it sorted out I should be able
to download and run Photo Story 3. Hope so--I will report back if I
get it going. Thanks again.

Yes...definitely let us know the result.

I guess you ran the Detection Tool?

I wonder if the following link would offer anything useful:

John Inzer---Bad News--I got the virtualization enabled in the bios, but
when I
tried to download the Windows XPMode it told me I was not eligible with Win7
Home Premium--you must have Win7, Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate.
Thanks for your help --I'll check out your other suggested links on movie
making in Windows 7.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I should have paid
closer attention to your version of Windows 7.

Did you run the Virtualization Detection Tool?
FWIW...I posted the link in my first reply.

Hi Don,

I think the hoops you're jumping through to get PS3 running on Windows 7 are
too much.... and you might be better off looking for other software.

Cyberlink's PowerDirector is one such option... see the Dec 1 entry in the
What's New section of the main page of my website.

I'd love it if Microsoft decides to make the PS3 installation package
downloadable and usable on Windows 7, but I havn't seen any clues they are
thinking about doing it.
