C:\>repadmin /showconn

Alfa\\<automatically generated\>

Bravo\1a11368e-88a6-4503-9be4-0f83986560bb

I have 2 domain controllers I ran the diagnostic tool on both servers. My
question is I'm not suppose to receive the <automatically generated\>
replication partner on both servers why do I receive a string alfanumeric on
the second DC ??

Thanks any help !!

As far as I can recollect, recent releases of repadmin /showconn should
represent the connection object name as it's _real_ name, that of a
GUID, the graphical interface abstracts this from you due to an
"options" attribute on the connection object which indicates to AD Sites
and Services that the KCC created it automatically ... so it tries to
help. In this instance, I'd hazard a guess that -

1. someone renamed the object to auto. generated
2. the GUID named object has been modified manually (therefore no longer
owned by the KCC) and you're using an older version of repadmin
