Question regarding film

I have been scanning (see, kind of on topic <g>) old family pictures. I
have run across some negatives that I'm curious about. Usually 4 in a
strip and measure about 1/2 x 3/4 inch for the picture area. I have *NO*
idea what these might be nor what camera they may have come out of.

Can anybody shed light on this?

I have googled and my guess would be Instamatic. Close?

Anyway, ran across a few of these strips earlier and got some decent
scans from them, but it was a fight. <g> Now I've hit a "treasure trove"
of these things and can remember no camera that they may have come from.
Sorry, no one around to ask about this. I wish they were.

Any tips on how to scan these would be appreciated also.

Most likely but I had a 16mm Minolta a long time ago. So unlikely probably
shouldn't even mention it unless the film is really old. Like before 1980.

Hi.

The long side of 16mm negs / slides from the Minolta is only about one half
inch.

I'm reasonably sure these are 110 cartridge film strips. I have some
from a Minolta 110 SLR that my wife used from 1977 to 1983. The negs
measure the same as you stated but I might add that they the measure 1
inch from leading edge of one neg to the leading edge of the next.
They also have the frame number (and arrow) prominently displayed in
the black area between frames. Nowhere on the strip does it display
the film type. Mine have all been cut in strips of four.

I have been able to trap these strips in the 35mm neg holder of my
Canon FS4000 film scanner and get some good results.

Haven't had either out for a long time. Just recalled they were similar.

Do you mean 110 cartridge film?

Could well be. *I* don't know what it is (hence the question <g>). Just
one of those "wondering things" and trying to remember what camera it
might have come from. Don't remember anything of the sort, but maybe an
instamatic at one point - but no one around to ask.
