Question on old programs

As usual I have a bunch of older programs, which still have some serious
gaming action on them. However, the XP will not install them on my
machine. I am getting an Autorun error which says" error installing
process: install\setup.exe (null). For me this is tad amount to
jibberish and I have searched the help catagories to no avail. What if
anything can cure my issue? Surely I have not lost my games to "digital
heaven".lol...........Since I have a boat load of them.
All was fine until SP2 came along and that pretty well fixed installing
older games or did it? If anyone has a cure for this I as a gamer would
be most thankfull.

thanks in advance

Hii, Right click the installer go to properties select compatability and

I may have understated the problem, we really are dealing with getting
the cd-rom to load the game on the system. Thats where the hangup is,
right now. changing its compatibility just brings on another issue of
it not being able to find the installer. Keep the suggestions coming.
thanks

Open the CD in Widows Explorer and navigate to the file that you need to
start, like autorun or whatever.

Start | Run | Type d: | Click OK

Or type whatever the drive letter is, e:

Have you actually tried the sites Wesley Vogel posted?
Is this a collection of gaming programs that once were on floppies? It may
be that you should copy the files from one program to a new folder on your
hard drive, and then click on the executable (AFTER having carefully scanned
the CD for malware, and only if you have an up-to-date antivirus program
with up-to-date definitions running.)
