This is probably dumb. I am a novice when it comes to GPS.

I am considering one of the Garmin units with built-in maps - I like
the 1450T because it is 5".

I am curious about the audio. Is GPS audio built into the units or
do they require bluetooth radio to go with them? My two vehicles are
2001's and do not have bluetooth.

Thanks

Duke

Damn!

I've Googled this but I don't see what the difference is between the
Garmin 1450, 1450T, and 1450LMT models. Heck, I have even seen a
1450LT model, but no description.

Help me here?

Thanks

There is a chart here with the various models. Some include
updates, so you're paying extra for information.

What I can't figure out, is why on earth do they have so many
models ? They can't even write decent manuals for them.

With Garmin we will stay DUMB forever. Because nobody will know what kind
of options/feature the next model may have or being taken out. And Garmin
has been releasing several models almost yearly.

- Some model has louder/softer sound

- Some model has better/worse Bluetooth and some has none.

- Some has option to transmit the audio (frequency) to RATIO some uses the
GPS speaker. If it works then it should work fine for car doesn't have much
noise issue (especially windows with air-leak driving at hi-speed).

I have been using Garmin GPS for almost 2 decades and still have to GOOGLE
for specific option/feature I need/want. Besides Garmin doesn't improve the
better feature and quality. Or they don't know which feature is important
not to remove, so for decade they have been removing and putting back some
features most old goats won't upgrade without it/them

So, you will need to GOOGLE for some feature/issue of the specific model
you have in mind.

There should be some difference(s), if there is NONE then buy the one with
the lowest price tag.

The differences? you don't just look at the SIZE but comparison of what
option/feature each model has to offer. Example

- Battery LIFE. I wouldn't bet my life on the info from Garmin

- Traffic

- ROUTE(s)

- Anti-Glare

- BlueTooth, Radio, speaker volume, type of connection (dock)

Other than that they are pretty much the same.
