Mary

I have Google, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox on my desktop.
My ISP is broadband. I use Netzero (free) for phone backup use if
broadband ISP goes down.

When I use Google, it insists on bringing up Internet Explorer which
in turn asks for a phone connect to Netzero. Of course I can ignore
the Netzero request, and do. But how can I (1) get Google to use
Firefox vice Internet Explorer, and (2) get rid of the Netzero
request?

Thanks

Not sure what precisely you mean by "Google" but why not just use
Google from the Search field in the address bar in FireFox? That way
you will also have other search engines to hand at all times.

It sounds as if you have IE set to dial Netzero on opening. In IE
Select Tools > Internet Option > Connections tab, set to "Never dial
a connection". That way if you need to open IE it will not
immediately try to dial.

Charlie.

That did it! Thank you.
