Recently purchased two systems, both with amd Sempron 2400 CPU, one with
asus A7V8X-X board, the other with A7V8X-MX SE. The -X system correctly
shows the 2400 speed in POST and in Windows, but the -MX SE shows it as an
Athlon XP 1500+ in both start-up POST and Windows. Is this most likely a
setting or BIOS update issue, or did the vendor install the wrong CPU? Any
help would be appreciated!

Don't know about this board but my A7V880 reported my 2400+ as an 1800+
until I updated the BIOS to 1007.005. Also, the board's default FSB is
100MHz which for the 2400+ results in 1500 (15X100) CPU frequency. The
latest BIOS for the MX is 1005.
