Thanks for the quick answer. Did all of that but I'm still getting the same
results.
SpyBot found 2 problems - AdAware found 23. Cleaned it up, ran the reg key
but nothing different.
Linda
Linda,
First, scan the system for parasites and remove them. SpyBot S&D searches
your harddisk for Spyware and Adware
http://security.kolla.de/
&
Adaware (similar)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
(Remember to perform a Webupdate to have the latest definitions installed)
This will remove malware from the PC. Next, reset the Search Engine. Click
the Search button in the toolbar > Customize > AutoSearch Settings > Select
a provider from the list.
Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs > "Reset Web Settings"
Download the fix - Reset Search:

I don't think I've been hijacked - rather I think I'm a victim of my own
over zealous cleaning. In the past I could type "? lamps" (without the
quotes) in the address window and get pages and pages of every site on the
net with the word "lamp" on it. Now when I type the question-mark word or
phrase, I get
http:///? lamps in the address window and "This page could not be
displayed" on the page. Any ideas??
Thanks,
Linda
