Hi,
I am new to a laptop. It has no mouse of course. So how to you
change the icons on the desktop without the right click method?
It s a toshiba with windows xp home edition.I do not have a manual -
I purchased it from a freind.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Below the touchpad there are usually two or more buttons that act as the
mouse buttons. Otherwise, click on the icon and use the context menu button
(usually next to the ctrl key).

You've managed to multi post to several newsgroups. Have you considered
Google or the manufacturer's web site?

Answered in another newsgroup. Please do not send the same message
separately to more than one newsgroup (called multiposting). Doing so just
fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup doesn't get to
see answers from others in another newsgroup. And for those who read all the
newsgroups the message is multiposted to, they see the message multiple
times instead of once (they would see it only once if you crossposted
instead).

If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup, please do so
by crossposting (but only to a *few* related newsgroups).

Do what I did: Get a wireless USB optical mouse. Works great, and I don't
have to fool with the touchpad.

Although some people like wireless mice, I don't. Before anyonme buys one he
should talk to someone who owns one about how quickly the batteries get used
up.

You can avoid fooling with the touchpad just as well with a wired mouse.

It's a Logitech Mini-Optical mouse, and when you plug the receiver into the
mouse, it turns the mouse off, saving the batteries.
