Howdy all,
I realize some people are impatient/upset with a problem
they are having. I realize some people have little to
zero knowledge of computers/hardware/programs.
I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but you people need
to consider what you're writing.
Too often, I'm seeing questions like "HELP!! such and
such program isn't working, i'm getting error messages,
this game doesn't run," etc.
That is why they made these support newsgroups. More
knowledgeable people gladly devote some of their time to
helping with problems because we like to do so. In face I
LOVE helping people.
So, I'm going to help you, help us, to help you.
When you come on here with a problem, include the
following things if you can.
1. System specs
2. ANYTHING you changed before the problem occurred.
3. Whether your computer is up-to-date with patches, etc.
4. Exact error messages - Not just "I'm getting errors"
5. Whether you're running any kind of AntiVirus software
6. Basically as much information as possible.
1, 2, and 4 are the most important I'd say.
Like I said, we love to help, but we can't read your
minds or see through your eyes. We need as much
information as you can give us.
And PLEASE....READ through the threads before you post.
90% of the questions you are asking have been answered
over and over and over again.
Understand that most problems you will face with Video
are:
1. Drivers
2. DirectX
3. Outdated, old, underpowered videocards
4. Systems incapable of handling what you want to do
Remember, just because you barely meet the minimum
requirements doesn't mean you'll have great performance.
Ok, I'm done now
