Marina,

This is in reference to my post on 8/17 regarding
connecting to a share on a Win2K system from a Win98
System.

I set up the User Accounts on both machines, and now I can
map the drive. However, when attempting to copy a file
from the share to the Win98, I now get the following
dialog:

"Error Copying File
Cannot copy (Filename). Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write protected
and that the file is not currently in use"

FYI, here are the original posts:

There are NO user accounts set up on the Win98 machine. I
have it set up in Network Neighborhood to use "Windows
Logon". Do I need to set up user accounts?
the workgroup, "WORK1".

Thanks, that was the answer. I had "READ" set to "allow"
and "CHANGE" set to "deny". I don't want my kids on the
Win98 machine to be able to change the files on the Win2K
machine, but I do want to allow them to copy them. I un-
checked the "deny" option on "CHANGE" and now it allows
them to copy the file to the Win98 machine!

Thanks again!

can I answer?

It's a permission issue most likely.

By default, sharing a folder give "everyone" read access
I'm pretty sure. You need to add write access and/or
modify for the account
you are using, "on the win2k machine". It's under the
security tab in the folder properties and there are
sharing specific
properties under the sharing tab, called permissions
there If I recall. This is all just off the top of my head.
Good luck dude
