Hi
I was wondering if there is any way of implementing a question bank for
mathematics using Access and Word. For example questions and solutions are
created in Word (with the use of equation editor). Then Access is used to
store the location or the question or answers. The report can then be used to
generate an assignment consisting of the required questions. At the same time
a solution sheet can also be generated.
I was thinking of tagging the questions etc, much like those in XML etc.
Hmm... would appreciate any help here. Thanks!!

The solution hinges on two points ---
1. Are the questions one-hundred percent text
2. Is the equation editor in Word absolutely required

If the questions are completely textual, the questions can be stored in an
Access table and that makes Access a possible solution. If the equation
editor is not required, the solutions can also be stored in in an Access
table and that makes Access the preferred solution.

If the questions require the equation editor then most likely the solutions
also require the equation editor. If this is the case, each question and
each solution would be a Word file. The preferred solution then be a Word
application that used a Word table to store the names of the question files
and the names of the solution files. If there were a lot of statistics you
wanted regarding the questions and solutions, you might consider integrating
Word and Excel.
