Asking for help.

I have COMCAST BROADBAND.

I have bought and used so many different splitters and no matter
what... Whenever I connect the coaxial cable going to the ATI to the
2-way splitter, it drops my internet connection!

When I disconnect the cable to the card and reset the Toshiba external
cable modem, I regain the connection.

I have used gold connectors coaxial cabling, I have tried one of
those signal booster units and they do not make a difference.

Anyone out there ever experience this situation? Is there a fix?

Thanks for the help!

generaly here in canada anyway, cable modems get a dedicated line, and tv
lines can be split. Off hand I'd say your modem is pretty finicky.

In Toronto I had a dedicated cable internet line but it also carried tv
signals. I split off of that and input to the tv tuner.
Never dropped the connection though.

You should contact Comcast. What you're doing is perfectly fine with them so
maybe they can help.It sounds like is you need a signal boost. When I had
my Comcast line put in the installer told me my signal was so strong I could
probably split it 50 times before I had a problem with my internet
connection. JLC

Glad it worked for you... I am basically doing the same thing, trying
to split the signal with a splitter, but I have been successfully. It
happened when I was on the one-way modem (phone line for up-link/cable
for downlink-I had to get a 2nd phone line for this setup). It started
with when I went to a two-way connection with a TOSHIBA PCX1100 Cable
Modem. I have used just about 5 different kinds of splitters, even the
gold ones. I have used the highest quality cables (monster cables) and
still happens. The other day I bought a booster and it not make a
difference. I'll contact Comcast and see what they can do? I hate
calling tech support! I hate hearing " Well sir, have you tried our
website for support?" If I had a connection I would, but I don't!

Thanks for the help!

If anyone can have a shot at this.... let me know... Maybe a Cable
Modem Super Techie
