Question about WOL and ports used.

I have been trying to decide which WOL program is best for me. I have
noticed that some programs use port 9 some port 7 and another one uses 137
UDP. Depending on which one I decide to use, that port number will then have
to be inserted in Port Forwarding list of the each Router.

One program lets me select which port to use another has this port fixed.
The exception seem to be Magic Packets from AMD that I am sure uses a port
but I do not know which. The strange thing is that it is the only program
that works right trough my router with out having to set up port forwarding.
How does it do it?

AMD's magic packet utility does an ip broadcast ( 255.255.255.255 as the
destination ). The destination port it uses in the UDP datagram is always
2304. A good way to get this information is to install a packet sniffer, such
as Ethereal, and then run a capture while using magic pkt. I have done this
and would simply post the results, but Ethereal saves its output to binary
files. I would post a screenshot but I can't on these forums... so alas,
you'll have to run it for yourself if you want more info :)
