hi all,

i have a question about the integration of win2k and win2003,

i have a existing server which is running windows 2003 server with active
directory, for example: domain name is AAA

i will add a new windows 2003 server,
should i add the windows 2003 server to be a BDC or
upgrade to PDC ? what is the best method ?
does any one have suggesstion?

thanks !

There is no PDC or BDC with Win2k AD. There are only DCs.
When you create a new DC it becomes a peer of the first DC.
You can then if you wish transfer the PDC Emulator role to
the new DC.

Just create the DC and it will join the Domain just fine.

Cheers,

Cliff

Active Directory which was introduced since Windows 2000 Server family
operate in a multi master model. BDC Domain controllers are only
available for Windows NT Server.

If you don't have Windows NT Server in your environment, don't bother
yourself with this.
