Question about where WinXP stores variables

Don Smith

I have several applications that autofill information. Sometimes the
information is old and no longer applicable. I'd like to change that and
have the information more current. I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.3 and have
cleared history and cache yet that information still persists.

An example is e-mail the cartoon Mother Goose and Grimm to friends. You
can visit this URL at http://www.grimmy.com/archives.php?archive=MGG

The other is my servers WebMail viewer,
http://webmail.adelphia.net/webedge/do/mail/folder/view,
but only a subscriber can view the signon screen.

I hope the above makes sense, but it does seem a WinXP feature and not one
of Firefox since clearing history and cache wasn't affective.

Thanks for any help here,
Don

Hi Don,

I think you are looking for "Saved Form Information".
In FF, go to Tools - Options - Privacy tab and click on Setting under
Private Data. Put a check next to "Save Form Information" and click OK.
Now click on "Clear Now" to remove all form information. You will want to
uncheck this option to save future form info.

Thanks Bert, but I already had those selected. So I still wonder where
those values are kept.

Don

Thanks Bert, I hadn't thought of those places. I'll check, I know I deleted
cookies when I cleared several folders. :-(

Don

Bert, I followed your suggestions and every thing is OK now I restored
Cookies from Backup and deleted several items that looked suspicious.

I certainly appreciate your help. :-)
