Can someone clear something up for me without getting too technical :-)
?

I think I understand that when you pull up a web page for the first
time, it gets "stored" in a cache so that it's easier to pull up the
next time, and that the page will remain in this cache until you clear
the history. First of all, am I correct with this?
Secondly, when you DO pull up that same page the second time, is it
updated automatically to it's latest form or do you have to refresh that
page to get any changes that might have been made to it since your first
visit?
This process has always puzzled me. It makes sense that the repeat from
the cache would be the "old" page, but I'm not certain how the process
actually works.
Many thanks for any assistance with this.

Internet Explorer has settings that control the caching of web pages.
Tools>Internet Options>General Tab>Temporary Internet Files>Settings. You
can set options to check for newer versions of stored pages there.
