I have Office XP Developer version and was wondering if there is any
advantage to using 2000 file format as compared to 2002 format.
The only thing I've noticed so far is that I can't seem to create a mde file
from the front end using 2000 format. However I've read in these groups that
2002 has a seems to bloat more than 2000. Any answers or site that might
explain the differences would be appreciated.

I read that in these Access groups, posted by some of the regulars. Hence me
asking the question as I don't know but want too.

In my experience, 2002 was marginally more stable and less prone to
bloat than 2000, but databases tended to be bigger to start with (if
you use 2002 format rather than the default 2000).

There is NO doubt in my mind that 2000 was unstable and buggy. 2002
was better, 2003 better yet.
