Greetings all,
I have a question about the use of NTFS and removable hard drives.
I am interested in learning about removable hard drives. Or, more
specifically, the use of those tray-mounted hard drive units that are fitted
into a standard 5-1/4 in. drive bay slot.
This is for NTFS, Windows 2000 Pro, using the built-in motherboard IDE
controller.
Here is what I want to know:
1) Can I (or should I) use "media pools"?
2) How do I properly tell the system that a drive is being removed or
installed?
3) Will I need to load any drives or other software?
4) Are there any "got yah's" I need to know about? - Especially when dealing
with older, surplus removable hard drive hardware.
5) Do I need to be concerned about which type of ATA drive I put in the bay?
6) What about partitions? Will they all work the same as before?
7) What is the best way to deal with drive letters?
Thanks all,
