I need to import an existing ACT! 5.0 database into BCMv2. This DB is
owned/operated by one staff person. It has an Outlook backend for email.
The database contains 3 years of her email messages. If I can, I need to
import the email as email.
I've been testing this, importing the ACT! DB from my LAN login. All the
email shows up as a Note, with 255 char of email text all in the subject
line. Most (but not all)of the history items name me as the Creator. New
email that I create in this new BCM DB shows up correctly as a message, with
message text in the body of an email format, and not as a note.
Am I right in thinking that since Outlook BCM is tied to an email profile,
and since I did not send any of these email originally, if I imported the
ACT! db logged in as the owner of the ACT! DB I'm going to import, I will
get the stored email? Or do I have to do something fancy with an ACT!
Outlook storage file? My guess is that folks who import their own ACT db,
get their email, is this right? Susan
