hi guys, i was trying to upgrade my RAM situation and recently purchased and
installed 1024MB (now i have 1982MB) but i am not really noticing a
difference. Should i have purchased a different kind of RAM? or is it that
Vista is just plain slow? i glanced down the page and noticed alot of
complaints in that dept... help me...

You often hear people saying that more memory is better, but that's
true only up to a point. Beyond that point, more memory doesn't hurt,
but it doesn't help either. More memory helps only when what you are
running causes you to use the page file instead of RAM. If you're in
that situation, adding RAM reduces (or eliminates) page file use, and
speeds up performance. If you're not in that situation, the RAM does
next to nothing for you.

Apparently, for your mix of applications, you were already at the
point where you weren't using the page file.

General speed is not just down to RAM.. the CPU, hard drive and video card
plays a part too.. make sure that the power management settings don't have
your CPU pegged down..

Also bear in mind that some programs are more CPU intensive than RAM
intensive..
