Hello!

We are migrating users from others messaging systems to Outlook
2003/Exchange 2003.

We modify the default outlook profile using a .prf.

We have two problems:

- How to indicate which is the default service in the prf
- How to delete a POP3 account that the user already has, without resetting
the outlook profile.

The .prf file is the following:

and Installation Wizard

It's not possible to delete a POP account with a .prf. You'd have to create a new profile or do some registry hacking with a script. I'd just create a new profile.

I'll look into the issue of setting a default service. Off the top of my head, I don't know how to do it, but it's a good question.

Thank you for your response.

We are waiting for how to set the default service in a .prf file.
Could you help us in scripting the POP3 service in a script?.

It is not possible to set the default account in a .prf file. It would require a custom program written with an advanced API that Microsoft just recently released.

You should add a POP account with a .prf file. Build it with the CIW or CMW.

Hello!

Could you indicate me which API we have to use in order to write the program
to set the default account?

Thanks and Regards

Jordi Muste
