Hi,

I use Windows Movie Maker to edit some DVD-rip files (croping out some
sections).
But after cutting out the segments and combining into a file again. The
quality is not as good as the original. (Even though I select the highest
quality 2.1M)

So the question is:

1. Has the quality been changed from the original file after using Movie
Maker?
2. What can I do to retain the original quality, or even improve it? (Please
provide a detailed answer.)
3. Is there a better software (free) than Movie Maker?

Thank you in advance!

It depends on your choice when you
render it as a movie file.

Maybe using a Custom Profile would be
your answer. Have a look at the following

Not that I'm aware of.
