Tony

I am posting in the wrong group I know.
The question I have is how do you get Outlook from checking mail every 5
mins and how do you import your contacts, messages, and setting from windows
mail.
Where are all that info saved.
Tony

Hello Mr Tony

I saw questions on Office 2007 with answers in some other newsgroups that is on my Dad's computer. There were in the Office section.

I hope I am answering correctly and I hope that I copied the news servers correctly for you. I think they will be more helpful . Try and see if you can get an answer there. I can answer you on this for Outlook 2003 but not for Outlook 2007. It is on a test machine here but I will not touch it to experiment at this time yet.

So here is the newsgroups that I have and again I hope it is correct.

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.office.setup
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.office.update
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlook.general
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlook
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.office.misc

Tools > Options > Mail Setup > under "Send/Receive" > click Send/Receive >
under "Setting for group "All accounts" > Schedule an automatic send/receive
every > click in the minutes box and change the number to 5, the default
would 30 mins.

For importing contacts:
File > Import and Export > select "Import from anothe program or file >
select "Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, or Windows Mail > Next and it should
import into Outlook 2007.

For additional help, I recommend you post this to
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail and microsoft.public.outlook.

It'll be in the Tools, Options menu, and somewhere on the Connections. I'm
not a big fan of Outlook, so I'm not 100% sure on it, but they'll be an
option in there for general settings, so it's not account specific.

Zack:

I don't have access to Vista yet but I've been watching this
newsgroup to see possible pitfalls when I'm able to install it. I enjoy the
banter between you and Andre. Both of you usually have excellent advice. I'm
looking forward to working with both of you when Vista CPP is available.
Research is a necessary tool and your support is priceless.

Aye, can't speak for anyone else but I'll always be around and about for
sometime to come :o) Check VistaBase (www.vistabase.co.uk) for anything you
can't find in here - it doesn't have everything, but it might be worth a
try.
